RESIDENTIAL TRAINING
Have you ever considered a residential training for your dog? Are you working with your dog but need the opportunity for some intensive training? Are you suffering with a canine behaviour issue that you are struggling to modify due to time, location or ability?
Residential training is a fantastic platform to allow us to initiate training for a new dog, give a current dog some extra development or to work intensively in order to overcome a canine behaviour issue. Dogs will stay with us in North Wales for a prescribed training period in order to maximise our routine and develop your dog in their individual training programme.
Many owners choose this service to combine with a holiday in order that they don’t see regression in their dog’s training and poor habits developing. Some owners choose this service if they have a dog with particular issues which means that standard kennel/home boarding/staying with family members is not an option.
How does it work?
Prior to your dog’s residential training stay, we will assess their suitability for residential training in the form of an initial consultation, carried out here at Max Canine. This can also be carried out at alternative locations by request. After the assessment and conversation about your dog, we will agree a set length of time for your dog’s stay during the assessment and what you want to achieve.
What happens when your dog is away?
Your dog will live, breath and work with us from our own home in the beautiful North Wales countryside and will become one of the family. During their stay, we will continue with their routine in order to minimise disruption and they will participate in twice daily prescribed training sessions and regular indoor training in the home environment. We have several acres of secure training fields, our own flock of sheep for those requiring training around livestock, and access to the Clwydian Ranges AONB, Llantysilio and Berwyn Mountains and Snowdonia National Park on the doorstep. For those requiring environmental training and enrichment, the local towns of Betws y Coed, Llangollen and Ruthin will be used. You will receive regular progress updates, video footage and photos via email or phone.
What happens after?
Once complete, you will be given a handover at Max Canine HQ in order to continue with your dog’s training once home.
